"Over 3 million Jobs Lost!" "Laid off!" "Downsized!" "Impacted!" "I lost my job! Now, what do I do?" "Where can I find a new Job? "How do I make my limited cash last?" "How do I keep from ruining my credit?"

OK. So, what's this all about!?!?! It's actually very simple and, at the same time, unfortunate! There are now over three million of us with at least one thing in common-we've been IMPACTED by the economy. And, YES, the webmaster for this site is one of those statistics. And, whatever you prefer to call it- "impacted" or "laid off" or "downsized" - it still means that, like me, you're at least temporarily out of work. And, you're dealing with all the challenges associated with being a statistic. Unless you can afford to retire or you're independently wealthy (and, I'm NOT), chances are you need to find something else to do that pays the bills. And, you can use all the help you can get! So, I decided to build an online community and this site to help people help each other. We can all contribute what we know best & help each other! I'm committed to helping you with what I know and by starting this community. And, we want everyone that joins to pitch in with what they know best. The idea is that we are all looking for a job, trying to cut expenses and save money and, at the same time, trying to maintain a positive attitude. Let's not all re-invent the wheel! One of the worst things about being laid off is not knowing where to start. And, as a result, a lot of people wind up wasting time finding out what works and what doesn't. We all wind up re-creating the wheel. PRACTICAL NOT PRETTY! So, this community is being built BY the Impacted FOR the Impacted! But, we are looking for subject matter experts to contribute - even if they have NOT been impacted. This site is meant to be PRACTICAL. We're not trying to make it PRETTY.
